David Lloyd on Kickback

david-lloyd.jpgI met David Lloyd, co-creator of V for Vendetta, in Roisin Dubhs last Thursday night. He was giving a talk on his career and promoting his new graphic novel Kickback. It’s been out since last year but Darkhorse dropped the ball on promoting it. Lloyd’s profile was at its height as the V for Vendetta movie was released around the same time as Kickback but for some reason Darkhorse failed to take advantage of this, leaving Lloyd to go on the road to promote the book himself.

Sub-City are planning a series of talks by artists and writers in the New Year. Keep reading and I’ll keep you up to date on these future events. Also thanks to Seamus from Sub-City for letting me in sans ticket!

Wedding Entertainment in the Temple Gate Hotel, Ennis

wedding-entertainment-7.jpg

I was in Ennis, Co. Clare in the Temple Gate Hotel for the wedding of Yvonne and Tony on Saturday night. Talk about a receptive crowd! I’d a steady audience as well as sitters all night and Yvonne was delighted. The father of the groom thought I was the singer on the way in (I do cut quite a dashing figure in my black suit and polished head) and asked me if I knew any Joe Dolan. I told him my singing wasn’t something I’d inflict on anyone. He did sit for a caricature as you can see below!

Evel Knievel RIP

As a kid I had no idea who he was but I knew he was the coolest toy one Christmas in the ’80s.
