This is a mate of mine who turned 30 yesterday. He had one of the best reactions I’ve ever seen: he smiled, then giggled, then said thanks, then giggled again, then laughed and laughed at it for ages.
I remember 30 as if it were only 3 years ago.

On Saturday night, after a lovely confusing excursion through the Boggeragh Mountains, I arrived in Macroom to entertain the guests of Patricia and Derek. Thankfully the flooding in Mallow had totally subsided by the time I was passing through, but I was listening to the week’s recap on the radio and Newcastle West had a tough time by the sound of it.
Thanks to John Paul and the staff of the Castle Hotel who were very helpful and thanks to the guests for laughing at my drawings!
June and July have been unprecedentedly busy this year so I haven’t had a huge amount of time to upload recent weddings. It’s been so busy that towards the end of June I did a drinks reception in the Galway Bay Hotel, hopped in the car and drove to Piker’s Lodge, Lough Gowna, Cavan for an afters!
It worked out fine and it was nice to know that two lots of guests enjoyed my handiwork that day!
This a recent wedding anniversary present based on a pic of my client’s mum and dad on their wedding day in the 70s, the decade that produced Star Wars, space hoppers and me. Elizabeth is a repeat client as I did a caricature of her sister as a birthday present about 2 years ago, so I’m slowly working my way through the family!
