I was entertaining the guests of Joanne and Sam at their drinks reception in the Clarion Hotel, Sligo on Saturday. The weather was fantastic, but of course the big draw wasn’t the sun, it was me, and I’d a brilliant spot right in the middle of the floor which ensured a large audience. There are two advantages to the earlier gig: I don’t need a light on the easel and I get to meet more of the kids. There’s always one or two budding artists among them, and they usually score a few pens from me when they say so, which is worth the smile it gets! There’s more pics below the fold.

Had a great night in the Absolute Hotel, Limerick last week with the third night of the O&B Recruitment Brand Launch. Thanks to all my sitters, I’d a great range of chats from business coaching to metallurgy! Also thanks to Dorothy and all the gang at O&B who treated me like one of the family!

Had another hilarious night with the great folks from O&B Recruitment in the Radisson Hotel, Galway last Tuesday. Have to doff my hat to MC Gareth O’Callaghan who gave me seriously OTT praise over the PA! Thanks Gareth!

I was entertaining in Cork on Friday night in the Imperial Hotel at the wedding of Carol and Shane (congratulations again guys!). I went down a treat, if I may say so myself! I took loads of photos which I’ll break up over a few posts. Here are some more:

Incidently I went for a dander round Cork the next day and saw parts of Cork are under the jackhammer of urban renewal.I’ve quite an interest in monumental sculpture so was having a good gock around when I saw this:

It caught my eye as he’s clearly supposed to be bearing a flag. So any Corkonians know what happened to Dwyer’s arm?

What a weekend! Southern Comfort had me entertaining the festival go-ers this weekend beside the SoCo sponsored Crawdaddy Tent (I recommend the Smash: SoCo, passion fruit, cranberry juice justified by the vitamin content ). It was great craic, met loads of people and everyone was delighted with their complimentary caricatures.

I also saw the Magic Numbers, Erasure, Chemical Brothers and an amazing set by Donal Dineen and Ronan O Snodaigh in the Body and Soul Arena on Saturday night:

The sheer range of events was cool, I attended a couple of talks on graphic design on Saturday and on Sunday, and then popped out and saw the Dublin Gospel choir on the main stage, then met friends at the West Cork Grill, who got me an Egg LT and got extra egg because they’re from Cork! Truly, Cork is its own republic.
