Meath Wedding Entertainment: Caricatures in Millhouse Slane!

Meath Wedding Entertainment: here’s a selection of my live wedding caricatures from a wedding in the fantastic Meath wedding venue of The Millhouse in Slane! I’m caricature artist Allan Cavanagh and I create unique caricature art at weddings and events all over Ireland. During the wedding drinks reception guests can usually find me set up somewhere near where the drinks are being served with my easel, lights, and two seats! I can form a real focal point of attention during my drawing sessions, and often have a queue of people watching me draw and there’s plenty of opinions about my work, and how I should be going harder on certain guests! I do try to strike a balance between exaggeration and complimentary! I draw couples, singles, and I’ll draw 3 people if my arm is twisted (you can see my arm was twisted a couple of times at this wedding!)

Having a caricature artist present during your wedding drinks reception will have your guests interacting, mingling, and relaxing in no time. It’s a great ice-breaker while the couple is off having their photos taken. I draw super-fast (each couple here took round 4 minutes) and as well as the fun of being drawn, sitters get to take home a lovely memento of your wedding day! Drawings are on A3 paper using indian ink and graphite and I include the couple’s names and the date of the wedding, creating a fun memory of the day that will end up hanging in your guests’ homes.

Though based in Galway I serve the whole of Ireland, and I’m a regular in many wedding venues in Co. Meath. The Millhouse is a particularly lovely and unusual setting, with many wonderful photo opportunities in the grounds (I often see the photographers’ work on social media when I get tagged afterwards!) The Millhouse is a large historic building dating from the 1700s and I always get a warm and friendly welcome there.
