Here’s a couple of digital caricature gifts that went to a golf course in Portugal in August. They’re both pictured organising their committee meetings over Zoom, and like golf clubs everywhere the courses were closed due to Covid! The captain has a big glass of red wine, a cook book, and an exercise bike is in the background. There’s also a rugby ball whizzing by! The lady captain has a lovely big glass of rosé wine and a few gardening tools in the foreground. The backgrounds in each caricature are based on two holes from the course and the club logo is visible on their tops. Nice to be drawing a sunny scene even if I haven’t been able to visit one!
This caricature was a Golden Wedding Anniversary gift for the pictured couple. It features their interest in music symbolised in the guitar, accordian and bodhran. Also included is a floral arch and a fruit and veg stall, as well as some ducks and snails! Below you can see the framed piece before it shipped to the customer.
This was a gift caricature for all the team members on completion of a big project. Each team member received a copy of the caricature. Each of them is drawn doing their favourite activities, including running, clay pigeon shooting, golfing, playing tennis, GAA football, swimming and cycling! If you’re coming to the end of a big work project and want to give a caricature gift to your team drop me a line for a personalised bespoke piece of Irish caricature art!
This was a birthday gift commission of the chap in the blue t-shirt pictured with his favourite band, The Rolling Stones! At this stage the Rolling Stones have such lived in faces they are a caricature artist’s dream. This was commissioned before Charlie Watts passed away and I finished it just shortly afterwards so that was a bit bitter-sweet.
Included in this caricature is The Jolly Boys Outing poster from Only Fools and Horses as the birthday boy is a fan of the show. He’s holding his favourite beer and his t-shirt has a little nod to Dublin’s iconic Poolbeg Chimneys (I draw them so frequently they’re clearly a massive part of the Dublin psyche and on those grounds alone they should be preserved).
I really enjoyed drawing this piece and it went down really well with the subject:
“The caricature arrived in time. Dad is over the moon with it. I love it and my Mam thinks it’s great. Dad is thrilled. It really made his birthday.
Thank you so very much.”
Below is the framed piece just before shipping. All my framed pieces are professionally packaged by Carabay Packaging here in Galway and shipped via DPD.
