Setting up ahead of the drinks reception I’m then on site for 2 hours drawing as many guests as I can in rapid succession, with each couple here taking only 4 minutes from sitting to presentation of the drawing! It’s so much fun and Moyvalley was such a lovely intimate venue, I basically had my own room in the old house to use as my personal caricature studio! Roseanne and Chris were another one of my couples who’d faced many postponements, with a wry sign at the entrance saying how many hundred days their wedding was in the making! I can’t remember the number but it was a lot! The result of all the waiting was the joyous crowd of wedding revellers who arrived at the venue that day, and basically had me in stitches the whole time, even though it’s supposed to be the other way around!

Below is a gallery of some of the caricatures I drew on the day as part of my Moyvalley Hotel wedding entertainment. Each caricature is drawn on A3 paper using pencil, indian ink, and graphite, and each page is printed with the couple’s names and the date of their wedding. Of course my live caricatures add a great deal of entertainment on the day as a “wedding-warmer” when the guests first arrive, but the drawings are also a lovely keepsake from the big day, and I often hear from guests that they framed and hung them straight away on getting home (I often a pic sent on social media of the framed piece hanging with pride in the hall!)
