Retirement Gift for Healthcare Worker

Retirement Gift Caricature: this personalised caricature was a gift for a cardiac resuscitation officer in Tralee who was retiring earlier this year. It’s the second piece I’ve done for this unit in University Hospital Kerry. It’s jam-packed with references to her work and the customer gave me a well-resourced brief with lots of photo references to work from! She’s wearing a maroon V-neck scrub top with “Resuscitation Officer” written on it. She’s also got on blue nitrile hospital gloves. The caricature is set in the resuscitation room in the hospital. She has an “IO drill” in her hand and she’s fiddling with knobs of a defibrillator on a crash trolley.

The customer requested lots of hands holding out ECGs and rhythm strips as she’s always being asked for her input on them! Again I had good examples from the customer of what to include here, and again as part of my job drawing people in different disciplines I learned something new!

She’s always lugging around equipment like mannequins for resuscitation training in huge roller bags, and a machine that makes chest compressions called the LUCAS, which I’ve drawn slung over her shoulder! Behind her are signposts for Armagh, Dingle, and courses she teaches such as “ACLS”, “BLS”, “Anaphylaxis training”, and “ACLS EP”.

My personalised caricatures make unique retirement gifts and can be delivered anywhere in Ireland. Once you order there’s a short form to fill out to capture the details you’d like included and you just email me recent high resolution head and shoulder photos of the subject. I take it from there!
