This wedding signing board for a Kerry wedding was a long time in the making! Originally for a wedding date that was postponed due to our first lockdown in 2020, I finally got to unite the caricature with the couple on their third go!
I was supposed to draw live caricatures at their wedding in the Kerry Writers’ Museum in Listowel but unfortunately their new date clashed with a prior booking. Delighted they got to go ahead with their big day in the end. I’m slowly getting through the backlog but I’ve been in touch with some couples for several years at this stage!
The caricature features the couple out in nature in their hiking boots, with Croagh Patrick in the background. There is a sign post including places relevant to them. There’s the theatrical faces, a pile of books, and a Limerick flag for the bride, and a Clare GAA scarf and hurley for the groom! There’s a few other little personal details in there that mean a lot to this couple.
For my canvas wedding signing boards the caricature is then printed on 40x60cm canvas by my friends in the Canvas Works Kinsale (highly recommended if you’re ever looking to get something printed on canvas and they have a huge range of options) and then shipped straight to the venue.
If you’re interested in having a canvas signing board for your wedding it’s never too early to get in touch. Slots can be extremely limited, especially around the summer period, so if you’re interested best to get in early!
