Man inside Toaster Cartoon

Charlie feels the heat as he negotiates appliance repair in this cartoon from Double Vision!

“Yer man behind the counter neither speaks nor looks at me once. I hold my peace. This is my very first encounter with a shopkeeper in my new town, and I’m a firm believer in arriving in a new community with a very mild plop, rather than a mighty loud bang.”

  1. Well there’s a lesson there in taking the long-term view when dealing with… less than helpful shopkeepers you’re probably going to have to deal with again! And you’re officially now a repeat customer so I’m sure that helped too. 😀 I found a similar attitude when I moved to Galway, almost as if you shouldn’t have come into their shop when they don’t know you!
Thanks for the praise about the cartoons!

  2. I was back in the shop today and the older fella asked how the toaster was going. I told him it was perfect, thsbks so much, and he went off to find me a less expensive sugar bowl then the one I’d picked. Patience pays off.
Yet again your cartoon beautifully illustrated just how I felt. That’s your art.
