Amazing comics artist Alex Ross posted the above image on his Instagram recently. It features the original Human Torch, who was a robot who could set himself on fire. Yeah, comics. Anyway I was quite struck by the chap introducing him on stage:
That’s a ringer for a younger Gay Byrne right? (A bit older than the image below but you get the idea.)
I wonder if Alex Ross used Gay Byrne as a photo reference for this character? I asked on Instagram but my comment was swallowed up in the hundreds of admiring fans.
