Donna McGettigan TD Sinn Fein County Clare Caricature: during the most recent attack on the arts by OpenAI Clare’s Donna McGettigan got in touch with me to commission a caricature for her social media platforms. She told me she wanted to support a real artist at a time that she clearly recognised was difficult for those of us who are a) human and b) make a living from art. The prevalence of that engineered “trend” was very disappointing and to get the order from Donna specifically because of it gave me a real boost.
One of Donna’s hobbies is knitting so she’s pictured here knitting the shape of Clare from yellow and blue yarn. She’s also been to base camp in Everest so I gave the background an Himalayan setting with a sign sticking out of the ground for base camp.
