Garda Retirement Gifts: Another one of my ever-popular Garda retirement gift caricatures here, this time a framed piece that went out last year. This one had many personalised details included, which is always fun figuring out where to put everything!
It features many moments and places from the retiring Garda’s life. There’s Esker Monastery, a barbershop quartet (singing The Lion Sleeps Tonight), sliothar and hurley, and a Galway GAA jersey with #3 on it, the position the Garda played! There’s the Liam MacCarthy Cup, a putting green in the background, a pint of Guinness in his hand, and of course the birthday cake with candles! There’s a hanging basket, tennis racket and ball, Sligo Garda Station and a little Garda car! The retiring Garda’s dogs are also pictured at his feet.
