Salthill Hotel Wedding Entertainment – Caricature Artist for Weddings!

Salthill Hotel Wedding Entertainment: here’s a small selection of caricatures I drew at a wedding here in Galway. The Salthill Hotel sits facing the Galway Prom with views of Co. Clare across Galway Bay. It’s a fab wedding venue I’ve worked in many times over the years. Each of the caricatures you see below took just 4 minutes per couple!

The Process of Creating Live Caricatures:

For wedding receptions I set up around an hour before the guests are due to arrive. I set up my easel, lights and roller display backdrop in a central location that’s easy to spot. Once the guests arrive I usually have a couple of sitters within seconds of them spotting me! I quickly pencil the groundwork of the drawing while chatting to the sitters (around 2 minutes). The paper is A3 and is printed with the newlyweds names and the date of the wedding. Then ink the drawing using brush-tip Pitt Pens containing Indian ink, then apply the shading with a large 6B graphite stick. Then there’s the big reveal where I flip the drawing around for the sitters to see it after the anticipation has mounted! This part gets a huge laugh both from the sitters and the audience I always get while I’m drawing! Once they’re done the drawing is rolled up and sealed with an elastic band and handed to the guests. Then the next subjects sit down for their caricatures! You can see 2023 prices for caricatures for weddings here. If you’d like to check your wedding date click here. I am taking bookings for 2023, 2024, 2025 and beyond! Did I mention I am an award-winning wedding supplier?
