Weddings take me all over the country, but this was quite a day. My new son was due and Guns N’ Roses were playing just up the road! My son held off for another couple of days and I found another route avoiding Slane and had 3 hours of tranquility and laughter with Paul & Trevor and their guests! It really is a beautiful part of the country, and I love getting off the beaten track on my way to weddings and seeing the hidden gems of the Irish countryside you miss from motorways and main roads. I had a lovely meandering drive up through Trim and then smaller roads along the River Boyne until I got to the venue.
Glebe House is situated in Dowth, Co. Meath and is an intimate and private wedding venue. There was a lovely summery drizzle (hey, we make the best of what we’ve got!) and just the sounds of the countryside when I arrived at the venue. I got myself ensconced in a corner in Glebe House and waited for the guests to file in. I got my first sitters without much persuasion and we were away! Each caricature takes just 3 minutes, and around 5 minutes for a couple. I had a great spot as I could be seen all around the venue. In no time I had an audience roaring with laughter! An enthusiastic bunch who were well up for being caricatured. Great fun and a great day!
