Taylor’s Bar Galway was my most important watering hole for years in Galway. The atmosphere in the place was like a waking dream. The chat and craic in that place was unparalleled. And then overnight it became a strip club. It dimmed a light in Galway’s west end for many years as sleazy stag parties leched where the zenith of musicianship had spontaneously played before.
I’d heard some weeks ago that it’s reopening as Taylor’s Bar. It’s apparently largely untouched inside thanks to being a listed building. This is good news. Good riddance to Club Paradiso, welcome back Taylor’s Bar. I hope you’re an ounce of your former self.
