50th Birthday Gifts Ireland: this caricature was a present from the pictured lady’s friends to mark a significant date! I drew her in an Arsenal jersey with a glass of white wine in one hand and a wedge of cheese in the other, and her signature sunglasses on her head! Also making an appearance is a baby hippo in an Ireland soccer jersey with a soccer ball beside him (which I presume is some sort of in-joke, I don’t ask!). I was quite chuffed with how cute he turned out, not too surprising given the famous hippo he was based on! I may have been channelling another iconic little hippo (and you probably won’t get that reference unless you too are 50 like me and the pictured birthday girl!) Finally she’s pictured on Malahide Marina with some final details like the bag and the floating signpost.
