Gifts for Hurlers Ireland: this was a commission of Tipperary hurler Robert Doyle to mark his success during Tipperary’s road to the All Ireland Senior Hurling finals last year. Robert is a club player with Clonoulty Rossmore and this caricature was to honour his part in Tipperary’s winning of the All Ireland while acknowledging his roots in Clonoulty Rossmore. I was told he was instrumental in the win when he saved a certain goal on the goal line in the semi final against Kilkenny! I’ve included the crests of the clubs and the Liam MacCarthy Cup (this cup can be found on various previous caricatures on this website!) He won an All-Star in 2025 so I’ve included that trophy as well in the middle near the Liam MacCarthy Cup. I’ve included some other references from his life including a Liverpool FC football and two tickets to Anfield to mark a recent trip! Below to you can see a larger image of this caricature and also what it looked like framed up. All the details were supplied to me by the customer alongside photos of Robert and I was able to distill all the various references into this finished caricature drawing, and as you can see in the review from the customer below it went down very well indeed!
