Unusual Wedding Gifts Ireland: this was a great piece to work on as it went through a few different iterations before the final framed caricature gift. The first stage was producing a caricature of the couple that could be printed on t-shirts for the bride-to-be’s hen night. For this one the client wanted the couple in their work clothes, with the bride to be sitting in the bucket of the groom-to-be’s favourite digger! The client sent me lots of photos of the couple, and of course a photo of the favourite digger! I put all these elements together into the following caricature image:
I didn’t get to see the t-shirts but from reports this hen party caricature went down a storm!

The next stage was to craft a drawing that incorporated important elements in the couple’s journey up to their big day. For this I included the church they were to get married in, the hotel venue for their wedding reception, a cartoon reproduction of the night they first met, their engagement in New York (I even managed to match the outfits!) and of course the big day itself! For this the client wanted the couple in the same pose in the digger as the hen party t-shirt caricature, but this time wearing wedding dress and suit. So it was a quick change out of overalls and high-vis jackets and into their wedding attire, then back into the digger again! (I don’t know if they really arrived in the digger but I like to think they did.) You can see the wedding caricature gift with all the elements from the couple’s story combined below:
Once the drawing was completed it was off to the Framing Loft on the Tuam Rd for framing, and then Carabay Packaging for secure packaging and courier delivery to the client. Here is the piece as I collected it from the framers:
