Archery Gifts Ireland – Caricature of an Archer in Woods: in the course of producing caricature gifts for people from all walks of life I get to learn lots of new things in areas I have no experience nor have ever been exposed to. This commission of an archer came to me recently and I now know what a recurve bow is in archery! That’s the cool thing about my caricature gifts: they can be refined to a fine point where the specificity of a particular detail will mean the world to the caricature recipient. In the past I’ve had to be very specific about breeds of cow, grass density, and types of fishing rod! I find it all fascinating and I love doing the research to make those fine details happen. There’s also the type of quiver he uses and he’s pictured in woodland as that’s where the archery range is. Also included is the archer’s pet dog and a cement mixer symbolising a building project he was taking on! He’s in the local fire brigade and his phone is hopping while he’s trying to have some downtime in the woods. He’s also a fan of darts and I’ve included an archery medal he was awarded.
