Band Logo Design Ireland: this is a caricature of the four-piece band Kybosh in their van on the road going from gig to gig! I created this caricature in Procreate after being approached by the band about creating a new logo for them featuring them in their van with their instruments, loosely based on the Mystery Machine from Scooby-Doo!

After the band briefed me I created a rough logo based on their idea. They sent me an image of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine as well as a series of photos of themselves and of course, their instruments! At this stage of development the idea is to create something rough and ready just to give them an idea of the direction of the finished piece, a sort of pre-vis like you might see in the development of a Marvel movie (except without the movement!)
After getting feedback from the band (the drummer is the actually the driver!) I rejigged the composition a little and moved on to the finished piece. I had a lot of fun in particular with layering the guitarist’s hair (you can’t see it in the finished piece but there’s at least 3 separate layers making up that mane!). I also leaned in to making their instruments look authentic and realistic (yes they are painted believe it or not!). Once I’d finished the artwork I sent it to Kybosh in jpeg and TIFF formats to do with as they pleased!
The feedback suggested they liked their cartoonified caricatured versions of themselves:
Thanks Allan we all love it ! Great job
If you look closely at the van you can see I even gave them a little Kybosh logo in the Ford font!
