Wedding Ideas Galway: Live Caricatures by Ireland’s top-rated caricature artist Allan Cavanagh! Last year I was in Galway’s Clayton Hotel for this cinema-themed wedding. I love what I do and wedding guests love me but there was just something in the air that day and this one was one of the best weddings I’ve ever drawn at. The couple knew my work and were dead set on getting me for the big day, and lots of the guests were arty and involved in TV and film, so there was just this extra layer of involvement and investment in the whole process from my sitters. I drew so many it got to the point I was in a bit of a trance and each time I got a huge laugh from the sitters and those waiting to be drawn! I love when I have a queue behind me because they get involved in every pen stroke and forget they’re even waiting in line they’re having so much fun watching the creation of my drawings!

We booked Allan for our wedding on April 19th 2025 and we are at a loss for words by how incredible he was. All of the guests are still talking about how good (and incredibly quick) he was at his art and how they loved that they got to take home their own caricature. I think it shocked everyone how good Allan truly was and how each caricature really brought out the features of each individual that you really knew who each caricature was. It was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding reception. We can not thank Allan enough. He is such a down to earth guy, so so lovely. He fit right in with our guests and was well able to have laughs with each and everyone of them which is just what we wanted. We highly recommend Allan if you are looking for a different kind of entertainment for your wedding.
