German Short-haired Pointer Dog Portrait: Drawing Every Dog is a new feature I’m a few weeks into now. This week it’s the turn of the German Short-haired Pointer, who’s next in the book after the German Long-haired Pointer. The German Short-haired Pointer was developed from the Spainish Pointer by adding Bloodhounds, Foxhounds, and English Pointers. Above is a portrait of the German Short-haired Pointer breed, drawn in pencil and colouring pencil, on A5 220gsm Windsor & Newton smooth surface cartridge. All works are for sale! You can make an enquiry below.

In the previous post on the Bracco Italiano I explain the background to this project; in short the internet has been polluted beyond repair for finding good reference material so I’m going back to books, in this case the German Long-haired Pointer Dog Breed from The Encyclopedia of Dog Breeds by Juliette Cunliffe.
