Small Business Warning: Vardis, aka Vision, targetting businesses in Carlow Kilkenny area

scamVardis (now calling themselves Vision) are currently targetting businesses in the Carlow/ Killkenny area. This is a scam. The caller will offer you advertising space on a charity wall planner (“for the children”). State clearly you are not interested and hang up. These scumbags are bullies and a quick google will reveal the many people that fall for their bullying tactics. Just say no kids.

Ivor Callely cartoon in The Corkonian

I’m contributing cartoons to Cork publication The Corkonian’s new feature Langer of the Month. The first recipient of the honour is expenses leech Ivor Callely, who has had the Fianna Fail party whip removed (wooo!). Ivor’s been claiming travel expenses from Cork even though he lives in Dublin, and like the good gravy guzzler he is can’t see that he’s done anything wrong because people like Ivor don’t trade in morality.

Meanwhile in the Daily Mail…

Huff Post doesn’t get caricatures

huffington-postThe Huffington Post ran an article today entitled “Street Portraits Gone Wrong: The Funniest Caricature Drawings Ever”. One of my caricatures is included, and readers are invited to vote on which one is the most “WTF”, which is what I asked myself when I read it.

‘When you go a street fair, a carnival, or even a wedding, there’s a good chance you’ll run into a caricature artist. These expert cartoonists can sketch a funny version of you in under 15 minutes, but they don’t always get it right. Sometimes you come out looking like a horse or a disgruntled, overweight woman (when you’re really a 10-year-old girl). Check out the bizarre caricature drawings we found, ranging from the good, the bad, and the ugly (mostly ugly) and vote for the one with the most “WTF?!”‘

With the exception of two the caricatures are actually very good, and it seems to have confused the readers too judging by some of the comments! Still, it’s all publicity!

Competition: and the winner is…

…Suzy Byrne! I had 13 correct answers in the competition and did the draw yesterday. Suzy was first out of the hat and wins an A3 colour caricature. Congratulations Suzy!
