In a change to the regular signing board wedding gear I got to draw this couple in their fire-fighting protective clothing! Whenever their beepers go off they hop on their bikes to get to the fire station so thought it would be fun to have them on a tandem bike belting along as their beepers go off! I gave them a glass of champagne of course as it was their wedding day. They’ve both got military backgrounds as well hence the tank reference in the background.
The Rolling Stones, with added Dad!
This was a birthday gift commission of the chap in the blue t-shirt pictured with his favourite band, The Rolling Stones! At this stage the Rolling Stones have such lived in faces they are a caricature artist’s dream. This was commissioned before Charlie Watts passed away and I finished it just shortly afterwards so that was a bit bitter-sweet.
Included in this caricature is The Jolly Boys Outing poster from Only Fools and Horses as the birthday boy is a fan of the show. He’s holding his favourite beer and his t-shirt has a little nod to Dublin’s iconic Poolbeg Chimneys (I draw them so frequently they’re clearly a massive part of the Dublin psyche and on those grounds alone they should be preserved).
I really enjoyed drawing this piece and it went down really well with the subject:

Harry Potter Themed Wedding Signing Board
The bride in this one is a big Harry Potter fan so on went the Sorting Hat and wand! Also pictured are this family’s 3 pet cats, some weightlifting and a football with the Arsenal logo on it. This caricature was then printed on canvas which is mounted on a 40x60cm wooden stretcher by my friends in The Canvas Works in Kinsale and delivered straight to the venue (always good when you can tick one more thing off the list for the couple getting married!) Canvas Wedding Signing Board
Canvas Wedding Signing Board: with weddings now back in style my canvas signing boards are starting to move again and here’s one I created for a lovely couple earlier this year. It features symbolic objects from their lives including teaching, science, PE, technical drawing, engineering, and farming (you can see the prize bull in the background!)
When you order one of my canvas signing boards for your wedding, I create a unique caricature from photos of you both and incorporate as many jokes, hobbies and other references as you like. There is a short order form to complete to capture these details as well as your eye colour and hair colour (not always obvious from photos!). You then receive a 40cm x 60cm canvas print on a wooden stretcher, with white space around the caricature for your guests to sign on the day. It can either be sent to your home address or delivered straight to the venue, whichever you prefer. They’re supplied ready to hang but are also suitable for framing.
