This pet dog caricature portrait was a Christmas gift commemorating a cherished pet who had passed away during the year. It was lovely to do and was very well received. It was executed in pencil, Pitt Pen and graphite on paper. I had one photo to work from but the dog’s personality really shone through and I could tell he’d been a cherished member of their family. I’ve commemorated several family pets this way, including pets that weren’t around at the same time but that their owner wanted them all depicted together. It’s a very special bond people can have with their pets.
