An Outbreak of Peace oratorio programme

oratario
My Christmas Truce cartoon was used in the programme for a new oratorio by Andrew Fowler in December, titled An Outbreak of Peace. Andrew sent me a copy this week, and seeing it framed I’m considering working it up into a larger painting during the year.
It was used by a choir in London too.

One of the magical things about having a site like this is how some of my cartoons catch on. When I was producing work on a weekly basis for the Connacht Tribune I’d refer to the content of Charlie’s article, try and incorporate a gag, and then forget about it. But a website is a gallery window through which the entire world peers, and my stuff has been used in presentations, programmes, magazine articles and posters around the globe.
Love it.

Everyone hates a whinger who comes out with the same knocking copy each year. Yet once again I find myself looking ahead to the Galway Arts Festival with a mixture of excitement, hurt and sadness
